| Just a quick update here before we pull into Jebel Ali
tomorrow. Today the SITE-TV studio was busy with an Admiral's Call in the morning
and a Captain's Call in the evening. FIFTH Fleet's Vice Admiral Fargo was aboard
today to discuss Indy's continuing role here in the Gulf. He took questions polled
from Indy crewmembers and discussed the answers with Rear Admiral
Moore. Questions ranging from new liberty ports to when will Indy leave the Gulf
were asked. Fargo said more will be known when the Secretary of State, Madeline
Albright, returns from Asia. She is expected to return to the U.S. around 4-5 May.

 This evening Sailors had a chance to ask the Captain questions on the live "Captain's Call." As the phones rang off the hook, the CO fielded questions ranging from what new medals will Indy Sailors be able to wear, to the possibility of having a "Steel Beach" picnic aboard Indy soon. Well... Indy will be pier side Jebel Ali for the next four days, sorry no Notepads, but the time will fly by quick. So, until then... |
