On my way back to the shop I thought about the more than fifty requests I've received in the last few days for photos of sons, boyfriends, husbands, and fathers. Well, it may take awhile, but I'll make it my goal to get everyone up before Indy DECOMS... I hope. So, thinking about all this I decided the best place to get started with digitizing every smile on Indy was from the top down.
Behind them steering the ship (right) is Seaman Armrhad Johnson from Chicago, IL who's been aboard Indy one year, Seaman Chris Ray from Studio City, Calif. who's been here three weeks, and OSSN Danny Bates from Sonora, Calif. who's been aboard two and a half years.
Left: Indy's "Full Service" quick stop. |
The consistent rocking and occasional falling teapot has finally slowed down to just an occasional sway and sliding soda can. After spending three hours filming and interviewing for a story on Indy's new flight simulator with my shipmate JO2 Rice, I rushed topside where I knew I could count on an outdoor visual of fair weather to fully show the rough weather has tapered off and Indy's airwing is catching up on CQ's.
Here on the bridge (left) I caught up with the some of the few people who actually have an office with a window view. From left to right is CWO2 Alexander Koppert from Belleville, MI, Ens. Dan Billig from Denver, CO, Lt. j.g. Scott Brady from Saratoga Springs, NY, and Lt. j.g. Ron Baisden from Elizabeth, NJ.
Watching the action from the Captain's seat was "The Big XO," Commander Steven C. Schlientz and standing by was the ship's Navigator, Commander Mark Ackerman.
