| Ok, our flight deck is
not curved, that's nine digital photos, digitally "stitched"
together. Well, it was another warm day here in the
Arabian Gulf. Pretty much just another day of steaming
and flying. Today I decided that I'd head topside and
just grab some photos that speak for themselves. But,
what can I say, I can't help striking up a conversation
here and there. (Below) AO1 Rob Hirons (right)
from Dale City, VA and AO2 Anthony Moore from Colquitt,
GA were hanging back waiting for the aircraft recovery
cycle to finish before they resumed loading ordnance.

Filling liquid oxygen bottles was AME AN Dan Nguyen (above) from Seattle, WA. |

![]() Keeping track of every aircraft moving on the flight deck was Airman Jason Jerry (above) from Memphis, TN.
VF 154's squadron page is finished with their Bulletin Board up and running. Here (below) Lt Cmdr. Thomas G. Munson, from Birmingham, MI, and Lt. David E. Maxwell, from San Augustine, TX, review video from the LANTIRN system after their flight.
I know a lot of the photos here are taken up on the flight deck, but it takes the entire crew from the pits up to make Indy what she is.
Well, like I said, today just was another day out here steaming and flying. I hope you enjoyed the big photos. Just let me know if I'm overdoing the panoramic shots. It's a big world out here, just trying to fit a little bit of it here in time.

Filming launch and recoveries from above the flight deck was ICFN Brian Holmes (below) from La Junta, CO. He's been aboard Indy for four months and said sometimes work can get a little repetitious. I said, "What? You get to watch the action all day long?" "Yeah, I do get to see more than everyone else below decks, but... sometimes one day feels just like the day before."
Now the deal with department & squadron bulletin boards is - they are supposed to be updated round every two weeks, and it's the dept/squad's that bring me the information. I thought if I got the dept/squads involved with Indy's web, they could help fill some of these LARGE gaps I haven't had too much luck taking care of.
Hopefully it won't be long before you'll have two places to look for your Sailor, here in the Notepad, and in his dept/squad bulletin board page.
The Ballcap & Photo giveaway in still in progress. We had our fifth winner selected Friday and we don't plan on stopping until we're out of here. SO - you can't win if you don't enter. OK, so, like the cameraman said, sometimes the days can be a little repetitious... |
