Alright! It's been six days since I pounded out a Notepad on this here keyboard... sorry to take so long to get back, but if I could just take a moment to explain. No? Well then, look, we left showing you Sailors getting a look at Britain's HMS Illustrious, now we're starting back showing you Sailors |
| getting a look at the
U.S. Navy's USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). The Stennis
came along side Indy this morning while we were
conducting a no-fly day. These shots from the helo were
taken by Photographer's Mate Airman Dale Davis.
We did have an All Hands Bingo the other night, and today the airwing got together for a few flightdeck "Olympic" games.
And we have posted new Information Regarding the Independence Decommissioning Ceremony. And our last Ballcap winner was announced and is the mother of one of Indy's own. So, we have been busy even if it hasn't been posted here everyday, but we'll get back into the daily Notepad... and your Sailors.

![]() It's been pretty cloudy and rainy lately, not really hot yet... just a little humid. We've been undergoing flight Ops everyday and general ship's schedule.
Independence, the oldest ship in active status, was announced as Commander, Naval Air Pacifics Aircraft Carrier Battle Efficiency Pennant winner for 1997, recently, by the Commanding Officer, Capt. Mark R. Milliken.
