 Well, after conducting a RAS (refuel at sea) this morning, Indy was in clean up mode throughout the ship getting ready for Jebel Ali. We had our Environmental Safety Standdown today, and later in the afternoon, the Asian pacific Heritage Month officially kicked off in the Foc'sle.
Now, mostly I didn't talk to too many guys as I ran around snapping photos today. So, I've just laid out a kind of wrapping up the flight deck scene here. Guys were out tinfoiling aircraft's to keep the dirt and sand buildup out of the sensitive areas. The flightdeck was getting a good scrubdown, and joggers were running with earplugs as a few birds were being trouble shot (looking for what might be a malfunction).

If a picture's worth a thousand words... well, this is one
of the longer Notepads I've done in awhile. The temp has come down a bit
now, I think it's only around 97º or 98º right now... but the good news is, we're
pulling into Jebel Ali for another four-day port call. Yeah, and it's only suppose
to be roughly 109º or so... but don't worry, it's a dry heat.
After a few key speakers, the crew celebrated with cake and quickly-melting ice-cream. That's a puddle of it right there (below)... it was delicious. A band played while Sailors enjoyed the refreshments, myself, I couldn't stay out of the ice-cream line.
Although it has been and was another steamy day here, the sun popped out just a little bit before sliding back into a layer of gray. Around four or five O'clock it felt like we just sailed out of the twilight zone and into limbo for about an hour or two before squeezing back in. The mist kinda cleared around us and a few patches of blue sky loomed overhead... an actual breeze of fresh air could be felt on the flightdeck.
